Daring To Discover Your Purpose Is Worth It
“The biggest lesson I learnt from George is to think differently. George’s course and my conversations with him taught me I need to find my tribe and put myself out there to create opportunities, see what happens and not be afraid of failing.”
Dr Richard Sibthorpe is one of the UK’s most-forward-thinking cosmetic doctors with over 20 years of experience. A leading medical practitioner and teacher, Richard, who practices in London, is at the forefront of anti-ageing medicine. A few years ago, Richard married an American real estate investor from California, and started to spend more time in the United States, while still running his medical practice in London. The pandemic made the constant travel challenging and Richard became stuck living life in two continents. He knew something had to change but wasn’t sure what. And that’s where I came in.
Over eight weeks, I helped Richard face his fears – both personal and professional. I taught him about his mind and how it works and the difference between a fixed and growth mindset. I then helped Richard picture the life he wanted to lead in future and gave him the tools to make it a reality.
Richard went away with a blueprint for the next chapter in his life. He now spends more time in California, where he’s working to share his knowledge and experience with start ups in the cosmetic surgery industry. He’s also bought a new home in London for his visits here and is currently renovating it with the help of his wife.
“I came away from the course with a plan, a blueprint for the next chapter, but also much more than that. George gave me a focus and shifted my mindset, helping turn negatives into positives.”
Jenny Baxter isn’t ready to retire, but she knows it’s something she wants to prepare for. She left from the National Health Service (NHS) last year, having worked as a nurse for the past 30 years. In preparation for this, she set up a care agency with a lifelong friend – a business which has gone from strength to strength.
Jenny could continue to work at the agency, but she knows she wants something else; she just isn’t sure what… and that’s where I came in.
Over three days, I helped Jenny face her fears and the obstacles that were holding her back. She began to feel and imagine her new life. She would live near the sea, where she would also develop a new business: a house that would serve as a ‘wellness centre’ with woods, wildflowers, and open fields, where she would build ‘pods’ to rent out to local therapists.
Jenny walked away with a blueprint and quickly started to put her plan into action. She bought a camper van so she could travel through Europe. Quite rightly, realizing that the time to do this is now, not in 10 years’ time when she might not have the strength or mental agility to take on such a journey. She also invested in a holiday home on the coast and is focusing on two new interests – beekeeping and wildflowers – in the hope that one day these things will become her passion and purpose.
Richard and Jenny both dared to discover their true purpose and came away from my course with a happier and healthier mindset. Both were able to shift the physical and emotional blocks which were getting in the way of what they really wanted. They’ve now moved forward and continue to grow and live with purpose, passion and pride.
